ABOUT US

Who is Vlok?
He grew up in the small Karoo town of Carnarvon, which is located in the Northern Cape Province. He participated in all sorts of sports at school, but rugby was always his great love. In primary school, Vlok played for the Craven Week team for North West Cape Province for 2 years and for the High Schools Craven Week team for 3 years.

Vlok was selected each time as a fly-half where he developed my skills as a kicker.

As a Coach

After his rugby playing days, he began my coaching career alongside Pote Human at the Bloemfontein Rugby Club. In their first year, they won the City Cup. Afterwards, Vlok and Pote coached at Shimlas where they achieved further success and won the City Cup again.

1993 – 1998

Played for Western Province after school, 80 matches. Played for the Barbarians.

2004 - 2018

I was the first person in South Africa to be appointed as a kicking coach. Won the Currie Cup with them in 2004, 2006, and 2009. Won 3 Super Rugby titles with the Bulls (2007, 2009, and 2010)

2017

I established my own Kicking Coaching Clinic and began consulting work. I have offered kicking clinics locally and in Japan, the Netherlands, France, and many other countries.

2018

At the end of November 2019, I was appointed as the Kicking Coach for the French National Team for 4 years. The appointment lasts until the end of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

2022 - Present

The French team won the Six Nations Cup for the first time in 12 years, and it was their 4th time achieving the Grand Slam. Vlok's contract was renewed from 2024 for another 4 years.
